Director of Innovation & IT

The International School of Curitiba (ISC) is seeking a visionary, strategic, and highly collaborative Director of Innovation & IT to lead educational innovation, digital transformation, and technology strategy across our school community. The Director of Innovation & IT serves as ISC's strategic leader for technology, innovation, and digital transformation, connecting emerging possibilities with our pedagogical priorities, institutional strategy, and operational needs.

This role oversees educational technology, information systems, IT infrastructure, data governance, cybersecurity, and our modern library learning ecosystems. Leading a multidisciplinary team of internal staff and outsourced specialists, the Director is responsible for building a future-ready technology environment that is secure, scalable, integrated, sustainable, and user-centered.

The role works closely with academic and administrative leaders to transform ideas into meaningful institutional solutions, strengthen organizational capabilities, and ensure that technology creates value for both learning and operations.

A key part of the role is shaping ISC's approach to Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance teaching, learning, productivity, decision-making, and organizational effectiveness while establishing appropriate governance, ethical frameworks, and safeguards.

The Director will also lead complex cross-functional initiatives, strengthen systems integration and data governance, oversee cybersecurity and technology operations, and ensure that ISC's technology ecosystem continues to evolve in alignment with its vision of Teaching for the Future. Responsabilidades e atribuições

Develop and lead ISC's institutional strategy for Innovation, IT, educational technology, and digital transformation, ensuring alignment with pedagogical and organizational priorities. Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Innovation & IT team, establishing clear priorities, accountability, service standards, and opportunities for professional growth.

Lead the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, developing institutional frameworks, policies, and governance practices that balance innovation, educational value, security, and ethical considerations. Partner with academic and administrative leaders to identify opportunities where technology can strengthen teaching and learning, improve organizational effectiveness, and enhance the user experience.

Oversee ISC's information systems architecture, integrations, data flows, enterprise platforms, and technology ecosystem, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and sustainability. Establish and strengthen institutional practices for data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and LGPD compliance, ensuring responsible management of institutional and personal data.

Lead complex, cross-functional technology and digital transformation projects, from strategic planning and evaluation through implementation, change management, and continuous improvement. Oversee the security, reliability, performance, and sustainability of ISC's IT infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, devices, and core technology platforms. Build a responsive, user-centered technology support culture, using service data and stakeholder feedback to improve processes, communication, and user experience.

Partner with academic teams to advance educational technology, digital literacy, digital citizenship, and technology-enabled learning. Provide strategic leadership for ISC's modern library and digital learning ecosystems, ensuring alignment with inquiry, collaboration, research, creativity, and innovation. Manage Innovation & IT budgets, vendors, contracts, technology investments, and resource allocation, ensuring responsible stewardship and long-term value.

Lead institutional change management and stakeholder engagement, communicating technology strategies, risks, opportunities, and changes clearly to diverse audiences. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, curiosity, learning, service, and continuous improvement across the Innovation & IT team and the wider ISC community. Serve as a strategic advisor to school leadership on technology, innovation, AI, information systems, cybersecurity, data, and digital transformation.

Requisitos e qualificações

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Significant experience in senior leadership roles within Information Technology, Educational Technology, Digital Transformation, Innovation, or a related area. Proven experience developing and executing technology and digital transformation strategies aligned with organizational priorities.

Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary technology teams. Strong technical and strategic knowledge of information systems architecture, systems integration, enterprise platforms, cloud environments, and technology ecosystems. Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and responsible technology adoption. Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and organizational change initiatives.

Strong knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection, including familiarity with Brazil's LGPD. Experience managing technology budgets, vendors, contracts, and strategic investments. Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions based on data, research, technical expertise, and organizational priorities. Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships across academic, administrative, and operational teams. Requisitos desejáveis: Master's degree or advanced qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous leadership experience in an international, bilingual, independent, or K–12 school environment. Experience leading educational technology transformation and faculty professional learning. Familiarity with ISTE Standards or comparable educational technology frameworks.

Experience developing institutional AI strategies, policies, governance frameworks, or responsible-use guidelines. Experience with Google Workspace for Education and other education-focused technology ecosystems. Experience with business intelligence, data visualization, automation, and institutional analytics. Experience with digital citizenship programs and technology education for students, employees, families, or broader communities.

Experience overseeing modern library systems, digital learning commons, or technology-enabled learning environments. Experience with LGPD implementation, privacy governance, cybersecurity frameworks, or institutional compliance. Previous experience working with international technology vendors, consultants, or partners. Fluency in both English and Portuguese.
